Salambo discovering Ethiopia
I wrote this blog between 2011 and 2015 when living in Addis Ababa with my family. It was the first time I lived on the African continent, the city and the country were very new to me, I wanted to write about the experience. Eager to discover its rich culture and heritage, we travelled extensively throughout the country and met many people, both Ethiopian and foreign. Each experience and trip as they unfolded were the subject of a blog entry. It was my way of recording the lived moment and the time. Because of my expat condition, I wasn’t able to work formally, especially not as a journalist, my former profession, so I wrote as an independent and anonymous witness. Since that time, Addis Ababa has been transfigured with the massive construction programme that started when we first moved there and which is still on-going. I thought I’d keep this blog online, even if not active, as a modest account of a certain period of time in Ethiopia.
